ICT4Peace – The Role of Information and Communication Technology in (Digital) Peacebuilding

The role of communication technologies for peace is a relevant question for research and practice. The dialogue panel “ICT4Peace” connects scientists with practioners to shed light on the interconnections and takes place as part of the scientific conference “Science Peace Security 2023” on September 21, 2023 at TU Darmstadt.

Georg-Christoph-Lichtenberg-Haus, Dieburger Str. 241, 64287 Darmstadt // Livestream via YouTube 16:00-18:00 Uhr

Communication Technologies for Peace: Does overcoming physical barriers automatically mean more inclusion? Where are the risks and ethical concerns in contexts of social inequality?

"Digital peacebuilding" is trending - but the integration of research findings into practice leaves room for improvement. That's where the ICT4Peace dialog panel (ICT stands for Information and Communication Technology) comes in: How can scientific findings be profitably applied?

Charles Martin-Shields (German Institute of Development and Sustainability) and
Fabian Hofmann (Geneva Graduate Institute) discuss with
Julia Hofstetter (ICT4Peace Foundation) and
Nina Strumpf (Berghof Foundation).

For this panel, moderated by Markus Lederer and Laura Guntrum (both TU Darmstadt, TraCe), the Georg-Christoph-Lichtenberghaus also welcomes the local community and civil society.
